Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency with which you'll need to manually vacuum. Find one that has excellent navigation, is able to sweep corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that needs emptying only periodically.
You can also find models that can mop and charge on their own which can be important for people with pets or kids. The top performers in our tests have great ability to overcome obstacles.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a good option for those looking for an automated, hands-free cleaning experience but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin as it gets full.
Both robots are proficient at picking up surface dirt on floors and carpets, and they can easily move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have test. It may get stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it might encounter. You should also keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station's dust bin. It then continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half continuous use. It takes around three hours to fully recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and comes with the latest technology. It's self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot through the app or via voice.
In our tests, the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and lowers recurring costs.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and move around the room and sweep a specific space. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. After connecting, we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world filled with cordless vacs that look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum in many households, but it also fits nicely on the table for a coffee or a bookshelf where you can move it around like a magic wand.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system traps allergens and releases cleaner air back into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets and pick up large dust or crumbs. It has three different suction modes that can be adapted to the task. It is able to quickly change between handheld and floor vacuum, and vice versa.
This model also has an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments as well as an Wand clip. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its limited run time. Its claims on the market that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is a typical battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. That's still enough run time to clean most of a typical-sized home however, it's not enough to get every single spot (though a second run-through usually will suffice). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its benefits It's lighter and more maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is better on low-pile carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums The 694 is a basic model that's an excellent option for those who don't want to invest too much on a robot. It was able to remove most types of debris in our tests, and frequently went over the same area multiple times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach the corners and edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and navigate your home. However, it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. It can get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and often runs out of power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects in that it has fewer components that require regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, because it has a better battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode on its own, comes with physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more robust, has a larger motor, and can perform better on floors with low pile and bare.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a brand you see on all sorts of home electronics So it's no surprise that they're one of the top mop and robot vacuum manufacturers. Their Jet Bot AI+ is equipped with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacles avoidance.
The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior modification, docking frequency settings, and more. The app is simple to navigate and use, just like other Samsung devices.
In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. However, it did not do particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than the other models we've tested, which might be a problem for some shoppers.
The app lets you access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's cleaning zone. This feature lets you to monitor your children or pets while you are away. The dustbin and filter can be washed for quick, easy cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps to keep the robot's bin clear and optimizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots have been designed specifically for flooring made of hard wood. The robots have an extra-wide cleaning path, and a dustbin that is 2X bigger than the competitors. This lets them clean the area for longer. They also include two side sweepers that can be used to clean along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which can tell if it's picking up surface litter or embedded dirt and then automatically adjusts the power level. The vacuum also comes with an app that lets you to view a virtual map, control functions, and schedules. Plus, robotic vacuum cleaner on sale can monitor the battery's status and then return it to its dock to charge by pressing one button. The app also allows you to personalize the LED lights on top of the vacuum with different colors so you can clearly see what areas it's focusing on or where it's gotten stuck.
The app makes it possible to steer the robot manually, if necessary. My living room rug for instance, has a darkly-colored border that can trip up some other robots. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, without registering it as a cliff. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
